The role
No day at impact is the same. You will work on several varied projects simultaneously and provide project management, technical guidance and direction to the mechanical team.
You will be responsible for supervising the work and training of the mechanical testing technicians, providing advice on prioritisation of work, interpretation of standard and job setup.
You will ensure adherence at all times with both Health and Safety requirements and the Quality Management System.
You will also provide regular, hands on support in undertaking material tests.
You will also at times be customer facing and therefore a blend of academic and commercial knowledge will be highly valued. Throughout your time with impact, you will have the opportunity to learn about a broad range of polymers and materials and training and support will be provided to help you reach your personal goals.

Qualifications
You will have an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant subject. We are happy to consider candidates from a variety of backgrounds however a robust knowledge of materials testing is essential.
Skills / Experience
Essential Skills
• Significant hands-on experience of Materials testing.
• Demonstrable team management and effective delegation skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Strong use of initiative and ability to act proactively.
• Established project management skills.
• Excellent time-management and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously whilst prioritising effectively.
Desirable Skills
• Knowledge/understanding of the physical testing of plastics.
• Experience of working in an ISO17025 laboratory or knowledge of UKAS accreditation.
• Strong personal values in customer service, quality and commercial awareness.

To support us in our growth, we need an experienced Sales Support Executive who has good customer service and administrative skills able to help us reach our goals.
The role
It is a wide and varied role with no two days the same and you will:
- Be the initial point of contact between Impact and our customer, responding to existing and potential customers by mail and by telephone by either assigning to correct technical lead or responding direct.
- Manage our CRM system, creating and maintaining accounts, opportunities, and co-ordinate with the technical team to produce quotations.
- Undertake outbound calls to existing customers to quote and organise testing by using various database to produce sales leads and introduce impact solutions testing capabilities.
- Manage our workflow system (kanboard) adding P/O’s, supporting documentation for final contract review.
Desirable Experience
Experience in a sales support role would be advantageous especially if gained in a technical environment.
Excellent customer service skills ideally gained in a B2B environment.
Good communication skills both verbally and written.
Efficient and effective administrator
Good IT skills with experience of Microsoft and bespoke software.
Desirable skills:
Driving licence
